Dr. Jasmine Foster—lovingly known as Dr. Jas—is a Chicago native and accomplished educator who discovered her true calling in education after building a successful career in finance and advertising. Her journey from the south side of Chicago to leading educational transformation reflects her deep commitment to ensuring all students—regardless of zip code, skin color, or socioeconomic status—have access to excellent teaching and leadership.
Before founding The Enriched Educator, Dr. Jas began as a middle school Language Arts teacher in Chicago Public Schools before advancing to instructional coach. After moving to Cleveland with her husband, she founded a charter middle school as Principal of E Prep Willard, bringing transformative change to the underserved Cudell neighborhood and leading the school to earn an "A" in Gap Closing Achievement for three consecutive years. She later served as Head of Schools for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools and currently serves as Managing Director of School Leader Development with Teach For America, where she architects enterprise-wide leadership strategies and cultivates executive talent pipelines across Metro Atlanta's education ecosystem.
Inspired by the educators who saw her potential and held her to high expectations, Dr. Jas is passionate about developing leaders who create thriving, inclusive school communities where every student can reach their full potential.
Outside of work, Dr. Jas spends her spare time visiting and reviewing restaurants with her closest friends and family. She also appreciates traveling to new places and exploring the world with her husband. Her favorite quote, from Henry Ford, reminds her to embrace challenges: "When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it."
