Becoming an Antiracist Educator: FAQs

Who are the ideal participants for this workshop?

All are welcome. We particularly encourage those who are ready to deepen their understanding of antiracist work and engage in rigorous self-reflection. Since this workshop is heavily rooted in discourse and introspection, we have found that participants gain the most from our time together when they are willing to lean into their discomforts. Even if you have previously engaged in work of this nature, this course will still aid in driving your continued progress in your journey towards becoming an antiracist educator.

Is there anything I need to do or bring in preparation?

Yes. All participants will be required to complete light-lift prework for this workshop. Two seminal readings and a brief exercise will be shared with you two weeks in advance of the workshop.

Can others join me?

That’s a “YES!” for us. Our workshops benefit our participants the most when they attend with their teammates and have the opportunity to reflect together. However, there will be frequent moments when you will be separated from your team. This allows our participants the chance to seek diversity of perspective and foster relationships with fellow educators who are also endeavoring upon this journey.

What if something comes up and I'm unable to attend?

No worries. You may reschedule for a different date that suits your schedule better. If you prefer to keep your date, you may also send a proxy in your absence. Simply email us at registration@theenrichededucator.org

We ask for advance notice (no less than 24 hours) if you are unable to attend. This provides our team with ample time to restructure our collaborative groupings.

Cancellations made one week in advance will result in a 50% refund, after which will be non-refundable.
